From 2012 until 2013, the show aired and later a year, Thakur starred in an episode of the mystery thriller Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek – Arjun as a journalist named Sakshi Anand. Thakur signed on to Zee TV’s soap drama Kumkum Bhagya in February 2014, and she began filming the following month. The drama, which also starred Sriti Jha, Shabir Ahluwalia, Arjit Taneja, and Supriya Shukla, premiered on April 15 and starred Thakur as Bulbul Arora, a lady who helps her mother (played by Shukla) manage a marriage hall with her elder sister (played by Jha).
