Dhanya Mary Varghese is an Indian film and television actress best known for her work in Malayalam. She was born in Idayar, Koothattukulam, near Muvattupuzha, Kerala, India parents Varghese and Sheeba. Dixon Paul Varghese, a Southern Railway Station Master, is her younger brother. She attended Little Flower Girls High School in Vadakara, St. Josephs High School in Piravom, and M.K.M. High School in Piravom.

She is a graduate of the prestigious Kalabhavan Institute. Dhanya attended St. Teresa’s College in Kochi for her bachelor’s and postgraduate studies. She began her career as a junior artist, and she was one of the group dancers in the movie Swapnam Kondu Thulabharam’s song Thottuvilichalo. Dhanya made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thirudi (2006) before making her Malayalam debut in Nanma, directed by Sharath Chandran Vayanad. Dhanya was one of the anchors for the 2009 “Vanitha Asianet-Film Awards.” She has appeared on a number of Malayalam musical albums.
